Kiln Hire - Share or Fully Hire

If you are working with clay but don't have your own kiln then you can hire our kiln for a full load or individual piece firing. Our kiln is an Electric Hymus with internal dimensions of Height 19" x Width 14" x Depth 14". Max temperature: 1300 degrees C.  (Note that the kiln needs to fire for a minimum of 6 hours, usually taking 8-10 hours).

Full kiln firing cost

Bisque: £65.00 plus VAT

Earthenware: £75.00 plus VAT

Stoneware: £100.00 plus VAT

An additional technicians loading fee of £12.50 plus VAT may apply if you require full kiln hire.

Share our Kiln with Your Individual pieces (including technicians fee)

If you are not in any rush to have your work back individual pieces can be added to our own kiln firing: 

Small piece (up to mug size): £2.50 plus VAT

Medium piece (serving bowl size): £4.75 plus VAT

Large piece (sculptural piece or large vase): starting at £14.00 plus VAT

Please note: All customers will be required to sign a firing agreement before leaving your work. Whilst every care is taken in firing your work, please remember that handmade ceramics can be subject to cracking during firing. We cannot accept any responsibility for any damage to your work resulting from firing.

If your work causes damage to our kiln (shelf, elements, ceramic bricks, thermocouple etc.) you will be liable for repair costs.
